The LOEL Senior Center offers weekday opportunities for mature adults (60 years of age and older) to gather and enjoy a nutritiously balanced meal with their peers.
The lunches are served Monday through Friday at 11:30 am at the center. Each meal served provides 1/3 of an adult’s daily dietary needs.
The meals are low in sugar, cholesterol, and sodium, as required by the government. A $3.00 donation is suggested for the meal and a 24-hour advanced reservation is required for dining.
Make your reservations by calling the Lunch Reservation Line at (209) 365-0572 or email email@example.com.
Meals on Wheels
After 8 long years, LOEL is happy to announce that LOEL Serves Meals On Wheels is back!
LOEL Meals On Wheels History
In 1976 Mr. Holz, our founder, started using his personal vehicle to deliver 10 hot nutritious meals a day, provided by the county, to homebound seniors. The program grew to serving over 100 meals a day up until 2008. At the time LOEL didn’t have a commercial kitchen and the vender we used went out of business over night without any warning. San Joaquin County stepped in and started providing frozen meals immediately.
Thanks to the City of Lodi CDBG funding and private donations we
were able to build the much needed commercial kitchen. In 2010 our commercial kitchen was complete and we started preparing our own food for the Congregate Daily Lunch in house. It’s been a priority since the completion of the kitchen to bring back Meals On Wheels.
We are excited to say we now have the kitchen and the
transportation needed to serve hot nutritious Meals on Wheels once again to the greater
LOEL continues to look for donors to help keep the program
